BARBERING APPRENTICESHIP AND RE-ENTRY PROGRAM

A Place to Start Again. A Path to Move Forward.

You don’t have to navigate re-entry alone. Our program surrounds you with people who care about your success and are committed to helping you build a stronger future. Through mentorship, barbering apprenticeship opportunities, professional readiness, and hands-on career development, we help participants move from re-entry to skilled employment, independence, and long-term stability. This is more than learning a trade. It’s about rebuilding confidence, developing real-world skills, creating new opportunities, and discovering a pathway forward, one step, one skill, and one opportunity at a time.

A PLACE TO START AGAIN. A PATH TO MOVE FORWARD. Building Skills. Restoring Confidence. Creating Careers.

Everyone deserves an opportunity to build a better future.

Our Workforce Re-Entry Barbering Program provides men and women with a supportive pathway from re-entry to professional readiness, skilled employment, and long-term stability. Here, you’re not just another participant. You become part of a community of mentors, professionals, and people who genuinely care about helping you succeed.

YOUR NEXT CHAPTER CAN START HERE.

MORE THAN BARBERING

We’re Building Careers—and Rebuilding Lives. Learning to cut hair is only part of the journey. Our program introduces participants to the professional barbering industry through apprenticeship, mentorship, hands-on learning, and exposure to the day-to-day operations of a working barbershop. Participants develop practical barbering knowledge while also learning the professional habits needed to succeed in the workplace.

Consider Barbering as a career

We help with reentry into the community

Please note. To be a barber that your community takes seriously, you’ll have to be on your way to obtaining your license. This is the easy part. We help you find the right school that’s for you. Our staff has experience with offering you the schools that welcome students and get you on your way. Being an apprentice can prepare you for the Barbering journey. If you decide on a different career, we can help with that as well. Our mission is to get you in a position to make a living.

THE APPRENTICESHIP EXPERIENCE

Learn. Shadow. Practice. Grow.

Participants are introduced to the barbering profession in a supportive environment where they can learn from experienced professionals.

The apprenticeship experience may include:

  • Shadowing experienced and licensed barbers

  • Barbering fundamentals and hands-on skill development

  • Clippers, tools, sanitation, and workstation preparation

  • Customer service and client communication

  • Professional appearance and workplace etiquette

  • Barbershop operations and business fundamentals

  • Mentorship and career guidance

  • Preparation for employment and continued professional development

Participants don't simply learn how to cut hair. They begin learning what it takes to become a professional barber.

FROM RE-ENTRY TO READINESS

The Road Forward Takes More Than a Job.

Returning to the workforce can come with obstacles. Our program is designed to help participants address those challenges while developing the confidence, preparation, and skills necessary to move forward. Support may include resume development, professional attire, interview preparation, mentorship, employment readiness, intervention services, career planning, and connections to additional community resources. We meet participants where they are while helping them work toward where they want to be.

DRESS FOR THE OPPORTUNITY

Confidence Starts Before the Interview.

Being prepared means looking prepared, feeling prepared, and knowing that you belong in the room. Participants can receive assistance with professional attire, grooming, resumes, interview preparation, and workplace expectations. Because sometimes the first step toward changing your future is seeing yourself differently.

TOOLS FOR THE TRADE

Opportunity Shouldn't Stop Because You Don't Have the Equipment. Beginning a new career can be expensive. Our program works to reduce that barrier by helping participants gain access to the essential barbering tools and resources needed to begin developing their craft. From clippers and barbering equipment to training materials and professional guidance, we want participants focused on learning their trade—not worrying about how they'll afford the opportunity.

THE PATHWAY

1. INTAKE & ASSESSMENT
We learn about the participant, their goals, experience, challenges, and career interests.

2. PROFESSIONAL READINESS
Participants develop resumes, interview skills, professional presentation, communication skills, and workplace expectations.

3. BARBERING INTRODUCTION
Participants are introduced to barbering tools, sanitation, terminology, techniques, and professional shop operations.

4. APPRENTICESHIP & MENTORSHIP
Participants learn alongside experienced professionals through observation, mentorship, and appropriate hands-on development.

5. CAREER DEVELOPMENT
We help participants prepare for their next professional step, including employment, continued training, licensing pathways where applicable, or entrepreneurship.

6. LONG-TERM STABILITY
Our goal isn't simply to help someone find their next job. It's to help them develop the skills, confidence, relationships, and direction necessary to build a sustainable future.

WHY BARBERING?

Barbering is more than a haircut. A barbershop can be a workplace, a classroom, a business, and an important part of the community. The profession provides an opportunity to develop a skilled trade while building relationships, serving others, and potentially creating a path toward entrepreneurship. For someone searching for a new beginning, a barber chair can represent much more than a place to work—it can represent independence.

EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE.

A person's past should not have to determine the limits of their future. With access to opportunity, mentorship, professional training, and people willing to invest in their potential, individuals can build something different.

A career.
A livelihood.
Confidence.
Stability.
A future.

That's what this program is designed to help create.

HELP US BUILD SECOND CHANCES

Real change takes a community. Barbers, employers, community organizations, volunteers, donors, and local businesses can all play a role in helping participants successfully transition into the workforce. Whether you provide mentorship, employment opportunities, equipment, professional clothing, financial support, or community resources, your involvement can help someone move one step closer to independence.

When we invest in people, we strengthen communities.
